In Duncan we assume Corporate Social Responsibility as a strategic line of action and as a commitment towards our employees and their families, the environment and the communities that are around our business activities through several initiatives:
1. Workers and their families
Through different actions we seek the integral development of our Human Capital and their families, enhancing their quality of life and levels of satisfaction and effectiveness. Furthermore, we guarantee the equality of opportunities and a safe and healthy environment for all of our collaborators.
Among the most important initiatives directed to our employees, it is worth highlighting the following: training programs, health and safety at work programs, job opportunities for the disabled, annual medical check ups, health programs, scholarships and recreational and sport events. We also support our employees families through coverage of kindergarten, scholarships, summer programs and back to school fair for their children.
2. Social Investment
Through important contributions, we ratify our commitment with the community and with several social development organizations that offer health and educational programs to low income young and adults, religious organizations, orphanages, hospitals, superior education institutions, universities, environmental institutions and organizations for the disabled. In addition, our employees volunteer donating their free time and knowledge to the aforementioned institutions. It is worth mentioning the strategic alliance with the civil association Superatec to establish and operate the “Centro de Formación Superatec-Titan” located in the community of Cagua. This center offers a non-conventional integral educational program for low income teenagers and young adults between the ages of 16 and 23, with the purpose of providing them with the skills to join the labor force in the near future.
3. Commitment with the Environment
Through a number of practices we guarantee that are operations are environmentally safe. Our battery manufacturing plant located in Cagua is ISO 14001 certified, given its effective environmental management system. In addition, in our Fundición del Centro plant we recycle used and scrap batteries that we collect from our clients and our service centers. From this recycling process we obtain the main raw materials used in the manufacturing of new batteries. |
